About myGbay
myGbay.ca is a community-built lifestyle directory created by people who live, work, and
play on the shores of Georgian Bay. Our small volunteer team—drawn from local businesses,
service organizations, and community groups—came together around one simple goal: help
every resident discover the best ways to live well, right here at home.
Why We Built It
- To simplify life. We wanted a single, trusted place to find age-friendly services, events,
and activities without scrolling through endless search results. - To strengthen community ties. When neighbours know what’s happening, where to
go, and who can help, our towns feel closer and more resilient. - To support well-being at every stage of adulthood. Whether you’re starting a family,
building a business, or reinventing life after 55, MyGbay connects you to options that
promote health, happiness, and purpose.

How We Work
Local Knowledge, Local Input
Listings are gathered from on-the-ground recommendations, town directories, and community submissions.
Verified & Up-to-Date
Businesses and organizations can “claim” their listings to keep details current, ensuring you get reliable information every time you visit.
Age-Aware Design
Large fonts, clear navigation, and filters for accessibility and 55 +-friendly options make the directory easy for everyone to use.
Continuous Improvement
Feedback links are on every page. If something’s missing or needs fixing, tell us—local volunteers review updates weekly.
What Makes myGbay Unique
- Built by locals for locals. No corporate algorithms—just real insight from people who
know the area. - Whole-life approach. From home repairs to hiking trails, from live music to volunteer
roles, we spotlight resources that enrich body, mind, and community spirit. - Inclusive yet focused. myGbay welcomes all adults while paying special attention to
the needs and interests of residents 55 and older.
Our Promise
We are committed to maintaining a directory that is trustworthy, easy to use, and always
community-first. Every click supports local businesses, strengthens neighbourhood
connections, and helps all of us live better on Georgian Bay.
